Members of the National Assembly on Thursday held a voting exercise to choose the House's speaker and deputy speaker.
The voting was the next order of business after the MPs took their oath of office.
Azimio had fronted former speaker Kenneth Marende for the speaker position while Kenya Kwanza backed up Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.
For the deputy speaker slot, Kenya Kwanza endorsed Uasin Gishu Woman Rep Gladys Boss Shollei while Azimio went for Daadab MP Farah Maalim.
Whoever wins the seat will take over from Justin Muturi.
Speaking earlier, ODM nominated MP John Mbadi said even though the UDM party decamped to Kenya Kwanza, it is still a part of Azimio until their Coalition agreed duration expires.
This, Mbadi said, means that the Raila Odinga team still has the majority numbers in the House.
