The Assumption of office committee on Friday held its inaugural meeting.
This comes just a few days after Kenyans went to the general elections and are awaiting results for the presidential election.
Chaired by head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, the committee said it will issue periodic updates as the situation develops in the country.
Some of the tasks of the Assumption of Office Committee include; facilitating handing over to the president elect and ensuring a smooth transition to the incoming administration.
Organising security detail, facilities and personnel, coordinate briefings for the president elect, as well as communication between the incoming and outgoing president.
They also prepare for swearing in of the president elect.
