It is all systems go as Safina Party is set to endorse businessman Jimi Wanjigi as the party's presidential candidate at the Bomas of Kenya.
The party is currently holding its National Delegates Conference and at least 2,000 delegates have been in the meeting since 10 am as invited guests trooped in for Wanjigi's big day at a separate facility within the venue.
Kenya Kwanza leaders led by Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) are among guests expected at the event.
Wanjigi will use the occasion to share his vision for the country.
On March 9, Jimi ditched the ODM party and joined the Paul Muite- led party.
Wanjigi said he will seek to become Kenya’s next president under the Safina party.
"I did assure Kenyans that I will be on the ballot on August 9. And where I will be, it is where the next government will be formed. It will be a government of the people of Kenya and for the people of Kenya. Today, I have officially become a member of Safina Party," Wanjigi said.
