Deputy President William Ruto on Monday met with scholars, researchers and Kenyans in diaspora at the Chatham House, London.
During the meeting, they discussed the August 9 elections.
The DP was accompanied by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi who is also a coalition partner in the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
Governors Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Salim Mvurya (Kwale) were also present.
"The August 9th General Election is a defining moment for Kenya," Ruto said in a tweet.
In a statement, Ruto said Kenyans will make a decision about two orders; One that embraces political discourse along socioeconomic issues of empowering those at the bottom of the wealth pyramid versus the other that prefers patronage politics of toxic ethnic permutations and combinations.
"Ours is committed to actualizing the full spectrum of our Constitution to serve all equally, while the other group strives to formalize a retrogressive politics of ethnic patronage,'' Ruto said.
Ruto took a break from his political campaigns for a 12-day tour to the United States, United Kingdom and Qatar.
