President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday held a meeting with Mt Kenya delegates and residents at the Sagana State Lodge.
The President addressed thousands of his supporters who expected him to give a clear political direction for the region.
Uhuru used the occasion to endorse ODM leader Raila Odinga for the presidency.
Thousands of area residents thronged Sagana State Lodge to attend the meeting.
Residents turned up in large numbers resulting in a commotion as people without invitation cards tried to force their way into the meeting.
Organizers of the meeting were forced to allow all people to enter the meeting.
Local MPs present were Kanini Kega (Kieni), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town) and Gichuki Mugambi (Othaya).
Other leaders present were former Gatanga MP Peter Keneth, nominated MP Maina Kamanda, Jude Njomo (Kiambu town), Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragwa), former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, former Embu senator Lenny Kivuti among others.
