Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i has said security agencies are well prepared to maintain law and order during the electioneering period.

Speaking on Monday after a meeting with diplomats, Matiang'i said they will ensure business continuity and smooth transition after the August polls.

“As a country, we are ready to proceed and facilitate the IEBC to conduct elections,” said CS Matiang’i during a consultation meeting with the Go-K Development partners on February 14.

French Ambassador to Kenya Aline Kuster- Menager said it is important for partners to interact closely during election times.

He said that enables understanding of how the government is organizing itself to achieve its results and bring continuity throughout the process.

"We have been engaged a lot in private sector investments and development agendas in the country and would wish to continue with these engagements peacefully while in a stable environment," she said.
