Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission on Wednesday held an inter-institutional forum with the Judicial Committee on Elections and Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
The agenda of the forum was electoral reform initiatives and the impact of the ongoing legislative reform process on respective institutional processes.
In a statement, the electoral boss Wafula Chebukati said that IEBC is responsible for the development of the Code of Conduct for candidates and parties contesting in election.
In addition, he said IEBC cannot execute their mandate in isolation but in collaboration with line institutions like JCE and Political Parties Disputes Tribunal Ahead of August 9, General Elections.
"We will engage Judiciary Committee on Elections and PPDT to discuss possible areas of collaboration on Electoral Dispute Resolution, Institutional and legal reforms and Capacity building of Judicial Officers on electoral process & operations," IEBC tweeted.
