The leaders are on their second day in the coastal region to mobilise the locals to support their team in the August 9 election.

Earlier during the day, they addressed Kwale residents at Kwale stadium, where they welcomed area Governor Salim Mvurya, and his deputy Fatuma Achani to the team.

Some of the local MPs who accompanied the DP are Kassim Tandaza (Matuga), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga), Benjamin Tayari (Kinango), Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Faisal Abdalla (Msambweni), Anwar Loitiptip (Lamu), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Mohamed Ali (Nyali), and Athumani Sharif of Lamu East).

Ruto asked the people of Mombasa not to support ODM leader Raila Odinga, whom he described as the government’s project.

Speaking on Saturday in Kwale where he launched several county and national government projects, the DP said citizens have become wise enough not to fall prey to deceitful leaders who can’t be accounted for.
