(PHOTOS) More Kenyans line up for vaccination

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services in partnership with WHO and PS Kenya conducted a vaccination program near Bus Station, Nairobi on Friday.

The mobile vaccination exercise is targeting highly populated areas in the city such as bus termini and markets to help the country meet its target of the vaccinated population.

Jassam Ndung'u, a nurse under the NMS, has confirmed increased uptake of the vaccine by Kenyans with long queues observed throughout the day.

As of December 16, a total of 8,665,288 vaccines had so far been administered across the country.

Of these, 5,181,626 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 3,483,662.

The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 56.7%.

Proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 12.8%.
