Uhuru addressed a joint sitting of the Senate and the National Assembly.
Among the dignitaries present were Deputy President William Ruto, ODM party leader Raila Odinga, Chief Justice Martha Koome and National Assembly Majority leader Amos Kimunya.
Others were Senate Majority leader Samuel Poghisio, deputy speakers Margaret Kamar, Moses Cheboi, Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu and NMS boss Mohammed Badi.
