[PHOTOS] Back to school for learners after mid-term break

Learners from across the country on Monday reported back to school from a three-day midterm break.

Schools took the break in their first term of the 2021 education calendar last Thursday.

Parents and guardians picked their children for the short school break.

The break came sooner than most parents anticipated with some decrying expenses that arise from travelling, shopping and feeding children while at home while they could have continued with their studies after being at home for longer than usual as a result of Covid-19.

Institutions reopened fully on July 26 after learning was halted in March last year due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The first term of 2021 saw the first of the Grade five cohort, under the Competency-Based Curriculum begin learning after three months of waiting.
