Police are looking for a gang that raided a house occupied by a group of Chinese nationals and robbed them of cash and valuables.

The gang of eight went to Saina Estate, Kajiado, while armed with crude weapons, metal bars and knives. They gained entry into the compound of Chinese nationals who work with Kipeto Wind Farm Kailado and stole from them at the weekend.

Police have established four unknown men approached the watchmen there, stating that they were looking for a house to rent.

One of the watchmen escorted them to view some vacant houses while the other one was left manning the main gate when he was approached by four other unknown men who identified themselves as officers from DCI.

When ordered to show their identification cards, they forcefully pushed the watchman to where the other one had been held. They were both tied hands and legs using ropes and their mouths stuffed with cloth.

The thugs then proceeded to jump the perimeter wall of two Chinese nationals’ compounds where they attacked and tied them both hands and legs using ropes.

One of the victims identified as Allen Xigo was robbed $1,200, Sh8,000 and a mobile phone.

Lu Genping told police he lost $2,800 and a mobile phone, while Chen Jiangming lost $500 US dollars and Sh20,000.

Another victim, Du Anfel, said he lost $150, while Chen Yaang lost his original passport.

No injury was reported by the Chinese nationals and the watchmen.

Police who visited the scene said no arrest or recovery was made.

Police suspect the gang was led by an insider who knew the operations of the Chinese nationals.

A major hunt for the gang is ongoing.

Police termed the incident isolated adding they will solve it.
