Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris on Wednesday donned the Democratic Republic of Congo flag outfit to Parliament.
Passaris said she wore the outfit in solidarity with the women who were displaced and some defiled.
"Today I stand with solidarity with the Democratic Republic of Congo that has to stand out to be a conflict zone leading to deaths and displacement," she said.
"I wore this because I met several women and so far over 300, 000 people had been displaced and forced to flee from their homes since the re-emergence of war."
Kenya through the East African Community regional block was appointed to mediate the peace talks between DRC and Rwanda.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently convening peace dialogues in Nairobi a week after the government commissioned its army to DRC.
Passaris said she had a conversation with some of the women and they want peace to be restored.
"I met some of the women who had lived in Kenya for the last 20 years and are happy that our country hosted them and but they are crying for peace in their country," she said.
"I told the women I would create awareness and stand in solidarity with them."
She said according to the United Nations, the conflict is seen to record as the largest humanitarian crisis in Africa.
"With the DRC entry into the East African Community and the upcoming general election in 2023 the robust intervention of the East African regional block is critical to fostering peace between the DRC and its neighbour Rwanda," she said.
Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi warned that the regional tensions could escalate into a full-blown war if the situation is not contained.
