An image shared on Twitter by Louis Jadwong with a caption indicating that a Kenyan road is in Uganda is misleading.
Jadwong shared the image and captioned it:
“East, west, north or south....whichever direction you take in this Pearl Of Africa, amazing sights await you. #WelcomeToUganda.”
The Fact-Checker has established the image is of a road in Narok County, Kenya.
A search of the image via Google Lens brings several Kenyan credible media reports that have used that image with a clear indication that the road is Maai-Mahiu - Narok- Bomet Highway.
A report by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) news website for instance used the exact image in a story titled: “Driver, turn boy injured in an accident along Maai-Mahiu–Narok highway”.
In the story, the image was captioned as: “ A lorry driver died on the spot and his turn boy seriously injured when the lorry they were travelling in lost control and rolled at Stima area long Maai – Mahiu Narok highway on early Saturday morning”.
Also, the image is available on the Wikimedia website and is described as Narok-Bomet road, Kenya-near Maasai mara game reserve.
