These conditions increase the risk for high blood pressure and high blood glucose levels. This in turn results in high cholesterol, hypertension, strokes heart disease, heart attacks, kidney failure and diabetes.

The fast food industry is rapidly increasing and expanding their branches almost every day in urban centres.

These joints are considered the popular “in thing” that people run to especially when they need an immediate fix to satisfy their cravings and hunger.

The industry is making millions of profits at the expense of the health of their consumers. The youth are victims of this escalating problem.

Fast food is very affordable, efficient, convenient, sweet and popular. However, the reverse is that they are high in sugar, salt, calories, processed ingredients and fat which negatively affects our bodies and can alternatively lead to addiction.

These products are highly marketed through social media platforms, billboards and multiple adverts on televisions and radios.

They unceasingly intrigue their consumers with enticing offers while working hand in hand with delivery services making their access even more accessible and efficient.

The key should be to achieve a healthy lifestyle and consuming food that has high nutritional value.

Healthy food should be in the form of fast food so as to encourage more of its intake.
