Covid-19: 117 new cases recorded as positivity hits 4.4%

No patient has succumbed to the disease within the last 24 hours.

In Summary

•Four patients are currently admitted to health facilities while 716 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

•The Ministry said 81 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 117 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,632 tested in the last 24 hours.

This represents a positivity rate of 4.4 per cent.

Of the cases, 70 are Kenyans while 47 are foreigners.

Ministry of Health announced that 68 are males and 49 females.

The youngest is a 2-year-old while the oldest is 82 years old.

The total confirmed positive cases are 324,976 while the cumulative tests done so far stands at 3,670,179.

The Ministry said 81 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.

This pushes the total recoveries to 318,605 of whom 265,574 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,031 are from health facilities.

No patient has succumbed to the disease within the last 24 hours therefore the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,651.

Four patients are currently admitted to health facilities over Covid while 716 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). None is on supplemental oxygen and High Dependency Unit (HDU).

In terms of County distribution, Nairobi is leading with 74 cases, Bungoma with 17, Kitui 12, Kilifi -five, Kiambu - four , Garissa - two, Siaya has two cases and Turkana one case.
