Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula during the Kenya Kwanza rally in Bungoma County.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has said that his partnership with Deputy President William Ruto is for the good of residents.

Speaking to the press in Kabuchai Constituency on Saturday, Wetang’ula dismissed ODM boss Raila Odinga who claims that Bungoma is his stronghold.

“Bungoma is now the Kenya Kwanza stronghold. In fact, it's Bungoma that is leading in the country. I assure you that Kenya Kwanza is going to form the next government," Senator Wetang’ula said.

Senator Wetang’ula added that he was not seeking to be an ambassador in Ruto’s government but to help people from the region.

Wetang’ula said that he was bitter with the Jubilee government saying that the Western region was not considered while distributing PS, CS and directors in various ministries in the country.

He added that if the alliance wins the elections, the region will get 30 per cent of the government.

The Ford Kenya party leader added that Ruto’s government will address the cost of living and sort out fertilizer prices that are affecting Kenyans.

Wetang’ula said that they have traversed the entire country and seen how Kenyans are suffering saying that the country needs a President with a plan to address the challenge.

“Kenya Kwanza is not fighting anybody. Let those faulting and spreading propaganda about our Kenya Kwanza deal know their fate is on August 9,” he said.

On County politics, Wetang’ula urged Bungoma to support Ken Lusaka as the governor, faulting the current leadership for sleeping on the job.

Wetang’ula’s sentiments were echoed by Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga who urged Bungoma to rally behind Ruto’s statehouse bid saying that it’s only Ruto who has a plan to change the economy of the country.
