Kenya on Monday recorded 258 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 240,430, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,137 recording a positivity rate of 8.2 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 2,414,857.
The country's fatalities have risen to 4,795 after another nine patients succumbed to the disease.
Kagwe said that there are 1,825 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 4,546 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 151 patients are in ICU, out of which 87 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 752 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 691 are in general wards and 61 in the HDU.
Meanwhile, 923 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 861 were from the Homebased care program while 62 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya's recoveries now stand at 229,006.
VACCINATION
The CS said a total of 2,870,392 vaccines were administered as of September 5. Of these, 2,057,080 were first doses while second doses were 813,312.
