536 new virus cases as 336 recover from Covid-19

The country's fatalities have risen to 3,721 after another three patients succumbed to the disease.

Kenya on Saturday recorded 536 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 188,136, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.

The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 6,036 recording a positivity rate of 8.9 per cent.

The cumulative tests stand at 2,012,698.

The country's fatalities have risen to 3,721 after another three patients succumbed to the disease.

Kagwe said that there are 1,092 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 3,982 patients are on the home-based care programme.

A total of 120 patients are in ICU, out of which 39 are on ventilatory support.

Also, 202 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 184 are in general wards and 18 in the HDU.

Meanwhile, 336 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 236 were from the Homebased care program while 100 were discharged from various health facilities.

Kenya's recoveries now stand at 178,119.
