Another 369 positive cases of the virus and 19 deaths confirmed

72 patients have recovered, pushing total recoveries to 108,861.

The Ministry of Health has said that people 369 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 4,469 tests.

In a statement on Sunday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the positivity rate is at 8.3 per cent.

From the cases, 329 are Kenyans while 40 are foreigners and 211 are males and 158 are females.

The youngest patient is a nine-month-old baby while the oldest is 90 years.

Total confirmed positive cases are 160,422 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,679,779.

The CS said that 72 patients have recovered from the disease, 39 from Home Based and Isolation Care, while 33 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Total recoveries now stand at 108,861 of which 79,273 are from Home Based Care and Isolation while 29,588 are from various health facilities.

Also, 19 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 16 occurred on diverse dates within the last one month and 3 are late death reports from facility record audits.

This pushes cumulative fatalities to 2,763.

Kagwe said that 190 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 29 of whom are on ventilatory 4 support and 118 on supplemental oxygen. 43 patients are on observation.

Another 130 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 122 of them in general wards and 8 in High Dependency Units (HDU).

Distribution

Nairobi recorded 153 cases, Uasin Gishu 52, Meru 28, Kilifi 19, Kiambu 14, and Nyeri 11.

Mombasa 9, Taita Taveta 8, Kisumu 7, Laikipia 7, Machakos 6, Kitui 6, Bungoma 5, Kajiado 5, Embu 5, Mandera 3, Migori 3, Kakamega 3, Nakuru 3, Tharaka Nithi 3, Garissa 2, Homa Bay 2, Kirinyaga 2, Murang’a 2, Nandi 2, Narok 1, Nyamira 1, Nyandarua 1, Tana River 1, Lamu 1, Isiolo 1, Kericho 1, Kisii 1 and Makueni 1.

Vaccination

a total of 886,288 persons have so far been vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease countrywide.

Of these 516,140 are aged 58 years and above together with others, health workers are 158,103, teachers 137,581 while the security officers are 74,464.
