Kenya on Tuesday recorded 174 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 103,188, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 2,848 recording a positivity rate of 6.1 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 1,246,279.
The country's fatalities have risen to 1,797 after another two patients succumbed to the disease.
Kagwe said that there are 258 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 1,190 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 37 patients are in ICU, out of which 15 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 11 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen in general wards.
Meanwhile, 86 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 65 were from the Homebased care program while 21 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya's recoveries now stand at 85,336.
From the new cases reported on Tuesday, 159 are Kenyans while 15 are foreigners.
In terms of gender, 92 are males while 82 are females and the youngest in a one-year-old child and the oldest is 79.
The cases are distributed in Nairobi 124, Nakuru 10, Mombasa 9, Kiambu 7, Kilifi 4, Uasin Gishu 4, Murang'a 3, Machakos3, Embu 2, Kajiado 2, Kirinyaga, Makueni, Migori, Taita Taveta, Elgeyo Marakwet and Wajir had single cases each.
