156 new cases of the virus confirmed, no deaths reported

34 people have recovered from the disease.

The Ministry of Health has announced that 156 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.

In a statement on Saturday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the new cases were picked from a sample of 3,784.

This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 101,690 and the cumulative tests stand at 1,209, 945.

From the cases, 130 are Kenyans while 24 are foreigners. Also, 105 are males and 51 are females.

The youngest is a 4-year-old baby while the oldest is 81.

Thirty-four patients have recovered from the disease, totaling the number of recoveries to 84,302. Seventeen were discharged from various hospitals while another 17 were from the Home-Based  Isolation and Care.

The CS said that in the last 24 hours, the country did not report any death related to the virus. The cumulative fatalities remain at 1,776.

Also, 408 people are currently admitted to various healthcare facilities while1,422 are on Home-Based Isolation and Care.

Thirty-six patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 18 of whom are on ventilatory support and 18 on supplemental oxygen.

Kagwe added that another 18 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen while 13 of them are in general wards and 5 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

From the new case, Nairobi registered 91, Uasin Gishu 12, and Mombasa 10.

Kiambu 6, Busia 5, Mmachakos 4, Nakuru 4, Baringo 3, Kajiado 3, Kilifi 3, Narok 3, Kisumu 2, Kwale 2, Makueni 1, Muranga 1, Homabay 1, Kisii 1 , Isiolo 1, Kitui 1, Nyeri 1 and Taita Taveta 1.
