Mbihi Girls High School principal Jael Lisamukha has narrated what happened on April 18, when a road accident claimed the lives of six students.

Lisamukha said they had already closed the school and she was in Mombasa attending the school drama festivals when her phone rang non-stop.

"Upon arriving in Mombasa everybody was calling and that's when I received the devastating news," she said.

She said most parents learned about the death of their children via social media and urged social media users to be considerate when sharing crash photos to ensure they don't hurt the affected families more.

The school head said upon arriving in Naivasha she found all the bodies still dressed in the school uniform at the morgue. This was her hardest moment, she said.

"We appreciate those who stood with us in prayers and all their support as well. It's so painful to lose such innocent sous, the word sorry can't be enough for now," she said.

She further thanked Vihiga MP Ernest Kivai and Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala who together managed to raise Sh87,000 for postmortem and body bags to ferry the remains.
