The second-term MP for Makadara says he declared interest earlier to evade the clashes from the locals in the area.

“I had to start this early to put my name on the ground so that when that time comes there will be no questions of who is Aladwa,” he posed.

The Governor position is currently being held by Wilber Ottichilo, serving his second term.

Ottichilo was elected first in 2017 after unseating Moses Akaranga. He was re-elected in stiff competition in 2022.

“Mimi kwa ukweli hata nilifika mahali nikaona kweli hii safari ya Kuenda Emanyinya inaeza nipata lakini nyinyi wapiga kura mulisimama na mimi,” the county boss said during his swearing in.

Aladwa says he will face all other candidates on the ballot come the 2027 general election.

Other candidates who have shown interest in occupying the office include current Emuhaya MP Omboko Millemba, and the current Woman rep Beatrice Adagala.
