Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo has urged President-elect William Ruto to unite all Kenya despite their political affiliations.

He said politics is over and it’s time to embark on development for the sake of Kenyans.

The county chief said when the majority speaks their voice is heard, but the minority are given room and their interests are taken care of as well.

“We congratulate the President-elect and we urge him to serve Kenyans as their head of state,” he said.

Ottichilo spoke at the county headquarters on Saturday when he was meeting his staff.

“Politics is about interests, everybody will rush into a coalition that they feel their political interests would be taken care off, but there must be a winner and a loser,” the governor said.

“We as the Azimio team have no choice but to accept the court verdict and move on,” Ottichilo said.

“We did our best to ensure we get power through baba (Raila Odinga) but it flopped,” the governor said.

However, he said those in power should not neglect the Opposition because of their political stand.

Ottichilo lauded the National Assembly for electing Moses Wetang'ula as Speaker.

Wetang’ula competed against former Speaker Kenneth Marende who later stepped down in his favour in the second round.

Ottichilo said he will serve as the unifying factor among the Vihiga people to ensure development comes to all parts of the county.
