A school management board in Bunyala North is up in arms with a contractor who has failed to complete a project he began two-and-a half years ago.

The board and parents are unhappy with an incomplete ECDE classroom project started by the Busia county government are Sifugwe Primary School.

The board led by school head Titus Simiyu,  parents Beda Ong’amo and Hassan Makokha, among others, accused the project implementation committee of failing to supervise the work to avoid substandard work.

Speaking to the Star at the project site on Tuesday, the school head who was accompanied by the school management board said the ECDE project started in 2017 was expected to be complete within a month.

The school management board members are now calling upon Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong to intervene and order the contractor to demolish the substandard project which has developed cracks and start afresh or else award the tender to another contractor.

“We are appealing to Governor Sospeter Ojaamong to intervene as a matter of urgency and order the contractor to start the work afresh or else award the tender to another contractor to complete the stalled ECD project,” said the school head.
