Applicable retail prices in Nairobi is Sh171.60.
Petroleum pricing in Kenya is undertaken in accordance with the Petroleum (Pricing) Regulations, 2022 (Legal Notice No. 192 of 2022).
Currently, all petroleum products for local consumption are imported in refined form.
The computation of petroleum pump prices considers the following key cost components:
a) The landed cost which is the weighted average costs (per product) of imported Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene;
b) Storage and distribution costs;
c) Gross Margins; and
d) Applicable taxes and Levies;
Prior to the revision of the Roads Maintenance Levy, the projected prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene were to reduce by Sh5.27/litre, Sh6.74/litre and Sh0.23/litre respectively.
