Former Kajiado governor David Nkedianye has said they have formed a formidable team with State House Comptroller, Katoo ole Metito, to take up leadership positions in the county.

Speaking at Enkasiti Primary School during the handing over of a school bus donated by President William Ruto, Nkedianye said Metito will guide the team that will run for positions in the county in 2027.

“We have a powerful team here, which includes the former Kajiado Women Rep, Mary Seneta. We are not competing among ourselves. Metito will organise us and we are ready to stand with him,” said Nkedianye.

He said that in the last general election, they made a blunder by not agreeing on who should seek which seats and that cost them the governor seat.

During the occasion at Enkasiti Primary School, Metito handed the bus on behalf of the President on Thursday.

Metito did not comment on the politics.

Nkedianye said the team will back Metito for whatever seat he seeks in the county, an indication that he will not oppose the State House Comptroller if he goes for the governor position.

Metito has already indicated he will seek the governor position.

Nominated Senator Peris Tobiko has also indicated she will vie for the governor position, along with Kajiado deputy governor Martin Moshisho.

Governor Joseph Lenku has not indicated who he will support to inherit his seat.

While Lenku has lately been seen with senators Tobiko, Samuel Seki and Moshisho, he has not come out clearly on who he will support for the 2027 governor in Kajiado.

Kajiado South MP Samuel Parashina and Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo have openly supported Moshisho’s candidacy.

MP Ngogoyo is in the UDA party, while Parashina is in the ODM party.

Metito’s team includes current Kajiado Women Rep, Leah Sankaire, Mary Seneta, Nkedianye, MP George Sunkuyia, county assembly speaker Justus Ngossor and a horde of MCAs.

In the last general elections, Lenku had 117,600 votes, while Metito had 111,725 votes.
