It was minutes past 9 am Sunday when I arrived at an expansive 200-acre piece of land along a fairly busy Nakuru-Njoro highway.

The scorching heat of the sun blanketing the vast farm-turned-meeting field did not keep away a mammoth crowd of people occupying it for Prophet David Owuor's mega revival crusade.

Multitudes of people from all over the country pitched tents at the grounds for three days beginning Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the last day.

The stretch to the meeting venue which is about four kilometres from the Njoro Interchange was full of traffic from as early as 6 am as the huge population of people made their way to the venue.

Mark you, many people camped at the crusade venue since arriving Wednesday evening.

Towards the meeting venue, the roadside is fully occupied by vehicles, both private and hired PSVs, stretching several kilometres past the main entrance of the field.

For three days, Nakuru reported heavy traffic jams that brought normal operations in the city to a standstill.

The prayer crusade came with an economic boost during the three-day event.

Traders, matatu operators, boda boda riders, hoteliers, and other accommodation establishments recorded booming business thanks to the huge number of guests that assembled for the prayer rally.

Several hotels in the town were fully booked days to the two-day revival crusade dubbed Menengai Six, presided over by Prophet Dr David Owuor.

At the main entrance of the grounds, a roadblock was mounted to check on oncoming vehicles before being granted or denied entry to the venue.

Security at this point was top-notch with several police officers deployed to the venue.

Owing to limited space and a bid to ensure a free flow of traffic to and out of the field, only essential service vehicles were allowed into the field.

Other vehicles were directed to a larger field designated for parking.

A makeshift gate decorated with blue and white balloons with the writings “Welcome the Mightiest Mightiest Prophets of the Lord” ushers attendees to the 200-acre field.

Three other gates were set aside where those suffering from different medical conditions were screened by a group of people donning white medical lab coats before entering the grounds for prayers.

They were medics. Some had badges describing the hospitals they serve while others had lab coats indicating they were from the Ministry of Health.

Their work was simple, to ascertain the medical condition of those brought to the field seeking healing and confirm the same once it happens.

From the main entrance to the altar, the stage where Prophet Owuor ministered, was about 100 meters.

Journalists were ushered next to the altar, a vantage point to capture the day’s events.

When one views the field from any vantage point at the field, an enormous crowd of people stretches as far as the eyes can see.

All races were represented in the field; whether Asian, white, or black.

Several flags of different nations, including Australia, USA, Russia, United Kingdom, South Korea, China, Brazil, Israel, France, UAE, South Africa, and Nigeria, just to mention a few, fly high next to the altar.

The church estimated that around 4,000 international guests drawn from 47 nations attended the meeting.

They held their flags shoulder-high during the prayer service ostensibly to announce their presence.

Minutes to 11 am, an announcement was made that Prophet Owuor was about to enter the meeting.

At exactly 11 am, resounding cheers and applause from the congregation confirmed his arrival.

Shortly after his arrival, a team of people wearing lab coats was seen leading a young man of about ten years who was tightly shutting his ears, to where Prophet Dr. Owuor was. An announcement was made that he had been healed.

He engaged the young man briefly to confirm whether he could now hear, amidst applause from the congregation.

Hundreds of people whom medics said were healed, were gathered and ushered to the altar.

Seats were taken and arranged for them to sit as abandoned wheelchairs for the crippled, crutches for the lame, and white canes for the blind were put at a central position on the altar.

In a statement, Senior Archbishop Major General (Rtd) George Kyaka described the events of the day as shocking.

"What shocked us all is the fact that this time around, the Prophet didn't even make his way to the Altar to pray and make a decree of healing as is always the norm, rather, he simply walked in with the glory of God and a tsunami wave of miracles broke out in every direction. This is an amazing wonder and has become the hallmark of this particular revival meeting."

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya was among some of the politicians who attended the revival meeting.

In his statement after the meeting, MP Salasya said:

“Nakuru was powerful ladies and gentlemen. The testimonies are shocking and true. The healing is real. There is God in Heaven. I am humbled to meet the man of God.”

The healing session lasted about three hours after which Prophet Owuor closed the meeting shortly after 2 pm.

Before then, he announced that he would be leaving for the nation of Venezuela in the next few days for nationwide revival crusades across five cities.

In a video clip that earlier went viral on social media, the President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro was seen announcing the coming of the Prophet Dr. Owuor to their nation.

Prophet Owuor ended his Nakuru visit with a mega international word conference at the Nakuru ASK Showground on Monday.

The conference brought together senior church leaders, gospel ministers from different denominations, and high-profile prominent personalities from around the globe.

His exit on Tuesday saw a section of Nakuru residents throng Nakuru Town Central Business District anxiously awaiting his blessings as his motorcade made its way out of the city.
