Governor Joseph Lenku on Thursday led his cabinet members, chief officers and other senior officers to a strategic realisation retreat to internalise his county’s development agenda.

“We came here to rethink, internalise and see how we can accelerate our development agenda,” said Lenku at the end of the retreat.

He said the purpose of the consultative meeting is to agree and further refine the priority areas that are geared towards shaping the realisation of his legacy vision.

“As I push for the delivery of my promise to the people of Kajiado, we need to move fast in the remaining years of my tenure to realise my goals,” said Lenku.

He thanked Prof Kivutha Kibwana, the former Governor of Makueni County, for facilitating some of the key sessions of their engagements.

The one-day retreat that was held at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen came hot on the heels of the recently held African Mayoral Leadership Initiative City Leadership Forum in Cape Town, which Lenku attended.

The 4-day intensive leadership program at the University of Cape Town, Lenku said, brought together governors, city mayors, and leaders from across Africa and around the world, all striving for transformative change in their cities.

“I had the opportunity to share my experiences at the South Africa event with my team,” said Lenku.

The governor said he is hopeful that his transformative aspirations for the people of Kajiado will come to pass.
