A 27-year-old woman has appealed to well-wishers to help her clear her deceased daughter’s medical bill, which has accumulated to Sh190,519.30.

Margaret Mueni, a casual worker in Olokirikirai, Narok North, said her one-year-old daughter’s body has been lying at the Moi Teaching Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary in Eldoret for one week.

Mueni, who lives with her elderly mother, said baby Anjela succumbed to kidney cancer after two months in hospital.

She was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital after her grandmother discovered a hard, swollen area in her waist. The baby was later transferred to MTRH.

“I fear the mortuary bill will keep increasing, yet I don’t know how I will pay it,” the overwhelmed mother said.

She wishes to bury her child soon.

Mueni said she earns around Sh200 per day, which she spends on food and school fees for her two boys aged six and four.

“I am honestly left without an alternative means of getting money,” she reiterated.

Well-wishers can reach Mueni through her cell phone number: 0797821379.
