Stolen livestock recovered during Laikipia security operation

Four suspects fleeing from the ongoing security operation have been arrested.

Police officers have recovered stolen livestock during the ongoing  multiagency operation to flush out illegal herders from Laikipia Nature Conservancy.

According to a police report, a security patrol team patrolling near Eighteen area and its environs on Thursday engaged a herder with two cows.

"The herder ran and disappeared into the bushes upon being challenged," the police report read.

However, the herder was captured and the two cows belonging to one Wilson Kingori were recovered and handed over to the owner.

Meanwhile, patrols have been intensified within the disturbed area and its environs to restore normalcy.

A security team on patrol within Marura farm arrested four suspects fleeing from the ongoing security operation.

The four suspects are in police custody awaiting arraignment in court for prosecution. They include Julius Lekandero, Kiamanoi Loloki, Lesupikei Leetoree and Samuel Leekete.

The operation continues.
