Beauty queen plans Sh60m autism centre in Marakwet

Miss World Africa 2017 Magline Jeruto has said she is working to establish a Sh60 million autism centre in Elgeyo Marakwet, the first one in Kenya.She spoke as she launched her campaign against stigmatisation of children with autism.Jeruto was voted fifth in a beauty pageant in Sanya, China, in 2017 and later crowned Miss World Africa.

Miss World Africa 2017 Magline Jeruto has said she is working to establish a Sh60 million autism centre in Elgeyo Marakwet, the first one in Kenya.

She spoke as she launched her campaign against stigmatisation of children with autism.

Jeruto was voted fifth in a beauty pageant in Sanya, China, in 2017 and later crowned Miss World Africa. She is working with partners and said she will wants a sustainable campaign.

She asked parents of children with autism to take them for assessment in special schools instead of hiding them at home.
