Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has started door-to-door campaigns as he seeks reelection.

He will face off against former NTSA chairman Lee Kinyanjui and former Ncacada chief John Mututho. The two have accused Mbugua of not fulfilling his campaign promises. They have also said the county’s expenditure is too high.

Mbugua, Kinyanjui and Mututho all have a considerable following in the county, and will be seeking the Jubilee Party ticket. Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge has also joined the race. He represents people living with disability.

He said he wants to rescue Nakuru from poor leadership.

Mbugua, a former AP commandant, has defended his development record, saying he used his first term to lay the foundation for mega projects.
