Death has robbed Kenya's media fraternity of some of its brightest shinning stars since the begining of 2024, some without even notice.
The country is currently mourning the passing of celebrated Raggae MC Njambi Koikai who died on Monday evening at a Nairobi hospital.
On March 17, the country woke to the shocking news that veteran TV news reporter Rita Tinina had died in her sleep in her house.
Less than two months before her demise, the Star journalist Dickens Wasonga died in a dawn fatal road accident while driving to work.
Tinina's death would later be followed in quick succession by the passing of former KTN news anchor, Michael Oyier, on March 17, and ex-Nation business writer, Washington Akumu, five days later on April 22.
Come May 16, the media fraternity was again in mourning following the passing of Sam Makenda, former Baraka FM presenter.
Less than a fortnight later on May 28, KTN education reporter Shadrack Mitty succumbed to an illness while undergoing treatment at a Kiambu hospital.
