Extreme Sports Limited CEO, Hussein Mohammed, has rallied all national and grassroots football clubs to up their game in securing sponsorships and boosting internal revenue.

Hussein was speaking during the 'Super 8 at 20' Kitui tournament powered by Extreme Sports and Kenya Ports Authority.

He emphasised the need for clubs to revamp their strategies and package their activities in a way that's not only attractive but also commercially savvy to entice sponsors, investors and potential partners.

“Corporate sponsorship is essential in boosting the growth of our sports sector in Kenya. In return, sponsors demand transparency, accountability and value for their investment,” Hussein noted.

Moreover, he underscored the imperative need for a paradigm shift in sports governance, asserting: "There are no quick fixes. Without sound governance and leadership, significant sponsorships will remain elusive."

In a thrilling showdown, Ithumala FC clinched victory, defeating Kitui FC 2-1. Despite a tied score of 1-1 at half-time, Ithumala's winning goal was netted in the 80th minute, sealing their triumph.
