Police are investigating an incident where suspected thugs broke into the office of Rangwe subcounty Deputy Commissioner and stole equipment.

An unknown number of suspected criminals broke into the office on January 15 and picked an HP computer central processing unit, monitor and a keyboard.

A clerk at the office said she left the office securely locked and left for home but when she reported for duty on Monday she found it broken into.

Police who visited the scene said the office could have been opened by somebody who had a duplicate key but the motive of the incident remains unknown

Police are investigating the incident and have interrogated a number of people but no arrest has been made so far.

The detectives said the stolen equipment had crucial information on the county operations.
