Kaluluini beat Mavoko Youth 2 - 1 to win the Governor Wavinya Cup at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, on Saturday.

Kaluluini and Mavoko received Sh1m and Sh500,000 respectively.

Ikalaasa Queens from Mwala sub-county won the women's title after beating Athi River Starlets 3 - 2 in a penalty shootout to also take home Sh1m and Sh500,000 respectively.

640 teams, both men and women, featured in the four-month tournament, involving over 14, 000 individuals from the 40 wards in Machakos County.

Governor Wavinya Ndeti said about 2, 500 matches were played in the course of the tournament, which she said will be held every year.

"The journey has started. Boys and girls, you have won. That money isn't for misuse, go use it well. Start some business or do something reasonable," Ndeti the finalists.

"We can give you Machakos County government tenders to help you double your winnings here. You can then invest in more projects," Ndeti said.
