Between 2009 and 2019, the youth population in Kenya increased from 11,089,518 to 13,177,600.
Over the same period, the proportion of youth to the total population increased slightly from 28.7 to 29 per cent (KNBS, 2009 and 2019).
In the coming years, the youth population in the country is projected to increase to 16,915,230 in 2025, 18,036,281 in 2030, and 18,966,737 in 2035.
