Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Tuesday, announced rare support for Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, terming him a good man who cannot be taken down easily.
Ngunyi said following his move to the Public service docket, Kuria has gone ahead and appointed himself the 'government inspector'.
The former Technical advisor to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta said the move makes him appear to be a prime minister, as he appreciated his "creative use of power".
Ngunyi added that CS Kuria is an individual who will make any position he is appointed to look big or even better.
"You cannot take a good man down. This man Moses Kuria has just appointed himself the government inspector. A small prime minister of sorts. A creative use of power. And if demoted to Minister for Animal Husbandry, he will make it sexy. Like him or not, he is on point!" Nyunyi said on X.
His remarks come against the backdrop of what appeared to be a demotion for Kuria, following a recent Cabinet reshuffle by President William Ruto.
Kuria in a statement as he took over his new duties put all Public Servants on notice, insisting that it is either they serve the people or go home.
He said under his tenure, public service will be transformed into service delivery, as he also announced a series of radical plans he intends to bring forth.
In the reshuffle, Kuria was moved from the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry to Public Service. His place was taken by Rebecca Miano.
The docket was deemed powerful and it gave Kuria a lot of influence in the country's business circles, as well as outside the country.
In a communication dispatched by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, on October 4, Water CS Alice Wahome swapped positions with Zachary Njeru of the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, and Urban Development.
Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS Alfred Mutua was redeployed to the Tourism and Wildlife docket while Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action CS Aisha Jumwa was moved to the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Peninah Malonza was transferred from the Tourism docket and assigned to the Ministry of East Africa Community, the ASALS, and East Africa Development.
Meanwhile, the portfolio mandate of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary was expanded to include the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
