Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has said he is ready to hold talks with his boss Governor James Orengo to end their dispute.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview, Oduol said the tussle between them is not good for service delivery.

"This protracted battle is not good for service delivery. The young men and women of Siaya county are the eventual losers,” Oduol said.

Oduol said he was ready to heed Orengo’s call if he reached out to him for a truce.

"I have pronounced myself on this and said it numerous times, I want us to finish this. If James Orengo calls me I will run to him but I will not run with my tail behind, I will tell him where the loopholes are," Oduol said.

The DG, however, said if given a chance for talks he will discuss with Orengo some of the issues bedeviling the county and work together to solve them.

In his desire to dialogue with his boss and end their tussle, Oduol alluded to the bipartisan talks between Azimio and  Kenya Kwanza.

"The bipartisan talks happening nationally today is because President William Ruto became the bigger person and reached out to Raila Odinga, I encourage my governor that we also owe it to the people of Siaya county to stay united," he said.

The Siaya county assembly on Monday approved an impeachment motion against DG Oduol.

Out of the 42 Siaya MCA, 38 approved the motion. Only one object while three were absent with an apology.

The speaker directed that the committee will report back its findings by June 8, 2023.
