CPA Wycliffe Ochiaga is the new Managing Director and CEO at Lake Basin Development Authority.
Ochiaga was appointed by the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of East African Community, the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development Rebecca Miano.
The appointment takes effect from May 29, 2023.
The appointment comes following an extensive recruitment process conducted by the Board of Directors.
Prior to his appointment, Ochiaga was the Director of Internal Audit at Lake Basin Development Authority.
In a statement to the media, the Authority stated that Ochiaga in his previous position, successfully led the LBDA in strengthening internal controls, corporate governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ochiaga is a distinguished accountant, and corporate governance professional with extensive exposure in both the public and private sector.
"His strategic vision and exceptional leadership skills make him an ideal fit for this crucial role." the statement read in parts.
The Board of Directors expressed its confidence in CPA Wycliffe’s ability to drive the Authority forward,emphasised his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication.
"The Board believes that under his leadership, LBDA will continue to fulfill its mission to catalyse, promote, and implement resource-based integrated socio-economic development for the improved livelihoods of the communities in the Lake Victoria Basin."
Board of Directors Chairman James Waore Diang'a called upon all stakeholders to extend their support and cooperation to Ochiagaas he assumes his new responsibilities at the Authority.
