Three youth suspected of attacking a Kisii county staff at a Governors' office in Kisii were today arraigned in court for assault.

They, however, denied committing the offence during a plea taking and were released on Sh20,000 cash bail with a surety of Sh50,000.

The suspects- David Nyakwama, 50, Joseph Machoka(40) and Patrick Onsongo(38) were seized on Monday upon surrender to the authorities.

They were charged with causing bodily harm on their victim, a county staff on Nov 4, 2022, during a function .

The complainant, a former United Democratic Alliance party blogger suffered injuries to the head during a scuffle with the suspects.

One other suspect was arraigned on Monday.

On Tuesday, defence lawyer Kerosi Ondieki asked the court to consolidate the two cases.

The case would come up for hearing on December 19.
