The administrator said they believe the guns are still within the hands of people around Homa Bay.

“The lost of the firearms is one of the highest levels of criminal intent. Modalities have been put in place to ensure we get back the weapons as fast as possible,” Lilan said.

“We’re still pursuing other suspects and we appeal to residents with information to report to us in confidentiality to facilitate retrieval of the firearms."

Speaking to journalists at his office in Homa Bay town, Lilan said the arrested suspects will help them narrow down on their search.

“I believe the persons of interest we’re questioning will help us retrieve the firearms,” he said.

Meanwhile area MP Millie Odhiambo asked security officers not to harm innocent residents as they conduct their search.

“Let security officers follow the law as they look for the lost firearms and not torture innocent people,” she said.
