The former aide to Raila Odinga, Caroli Omondi, has clinched the Suba South parliamentary seat.

Omondi has replaced the ODM national chairman John Mbadi, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, winning with a total vote count of 25,805.

His closest rival, Stephen Sangira, an independent candidate,  got 14,396 votes.

Others in the race were Jared Abich, Medo Misama, Julius Opala and Ayolo Odongo.
