There was jubilation in Mbita High School, Homa Bay after the school produced a student among the top 10 underage candidates in the 2021 KCSE results.
Evans Omondi scored an A plain with 82 points.
Led by the school principal Kennedy Ojijo, the school celebrated good performance when the student's name was mentioned on Saturday.
Ojijo described Omondi as a disciplined student who was always committed to his studies.
“He has been hard working throughout his academic tenure in this school and has never been involved in any indiscipline cases,” Ojijo said.
He described Omondi as one who had lifted not only the name of Mbita High School but the entire Nyanza region on the national academic map.
“We are proud of him and other students in our school who have done well in the examinations. Indeed, hard work pays,” Ojijo said.
During the release of the results, Omondi is one of the few students from Nyanza whose names were mentioned by Education CS Magoha.
