Governor Nyong’o leads Kisumu residents to mark Raila’s 77th birthday

ODM leader Raila Odinga's birthday celebrations in Kisumu was marked by praises and campaigns for his presidential bid ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Raila was described as a visionary man who has greatly sacrificed to the political development in this country in a democratic, enthusiastic and prosperous manner.

International Law Professor Makau Mutua who was in the lakeside city noted that they are assembling a team of ‘think tankers’ who will guide the ODM party leader presidential campaign, not just to capture power but to place in transformative leadership.

Mutua noted that Raila's campaign platform revives the hope of a united Kenyan and a people-driven government that will give an equal opportunity to all to exploit their potential.

Speaking at Mama Ngina Children's Home to mark Raila Odinga’s 77th birthday, Prof Mutua hailed the Azimio la Umoja movement presidential candidate as the greatest man in Kenya’s political history.

"We are in the process of putting up a platform to ensure that we are not just competing for power, we want to capture power to transform the spectra to make sure no one is left behind," Mutua said.

Mutua alongside Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o is part of a 12-man team named by Raila to lead his presidential campaigns.

On his part, Nyong'o said that:

“Let all the children of Kenya come into one basket to give the opportunity to this visionary who has developed all his life to the political development of his country in a democratic, inclusive and prosporus manner".

The event was organised by Young Tusk for Handshake Alliance (YOTHA) led by their Kisumu County coordinator James Were.
