Nyamira leaders will meet next week to discuss the way forward on the county’s development after the new governor assumed office early this month.

Interior boss Fred Matiang’i who is championing for the meeting where detailed information on the way out for Nyamira county will be shared, affirmed his unwavering support for governor Nyaribo.

During his weekend tour to Nyabaria boys school, Matiang’i said he will be meeting the county leadership in his office to discuss urgent development matters that should be handled in the next 18 months.

“I am ready to work with the new governor for the sake of service delivery to our people. There is a lot that should be done in the next couple of months, therefore we cannot fulfil these important agendas if we do not sit down and chat the way forward,” he said.

The leaders who will be meeting include the four members of parliament, the woman representative, senator and Mcas.

Matiang’i was accompanied by Health PS Susan Mochache, County Commissioner Amos Mariba, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose, Women representative Jerusha Momanyi and principal Boaz Owino.

The CS asked the county leadership to support the agendas of the new governor by reducing unnecessary political frictions which he said will be destructive to the people of Nyamira given the limited time before the 2022  elections.

Governor Nyaribo on Thursday last week held leadership meetings with various key stakeholders among them chief officers and directors who are responsible for implementation and execution of government agenda.

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko said the meetings with the new governor will be key in the few days he has to complete the development projects and other pending projects that they had started together with the late governor John Nyagarama.

“The entire county including the leaders are depending on Nyaribo to raise Nyamira from where governor Nyagarama left it. Therefore, we should bury our political differences as leaders for the sake of our county, and this can only be achieved by way of joining hands and supporting the new governor to deliver services to our residents‚” Nyamoko said.
