Six contractor groups formed by people with disability have threatened to sue the Garissa government over a Sh25 million debt.

Led by the former Garissa county council chairman Dubat Amey, the contractors accused Finance executive Ahmed Aden of being arrogant and using abusive language.

Amey, who is disabled, said the finance boss last week threatened them when they sought an audience with him.

“We are asking the governor to process our money, failure to which we will go to court. He should also sack the CEC of Finance because of his arrogance and incapability,” he said.

But Aden said the contractors were paid Sh2 million last week and questioned why they are complaining.

“This is one group we have always considered whenever we receive reimbursement from the national government. I am shocked that after I explained to them they decided to go to the media,” he said.

Aden said despite giving people with disability priority whenever they receive funds, the groups still tarnish his name.
