Graft allegations against Migori Governor Obado split MCAs

The Ethics and Anti-CorruptionCommission listof shame that implicatedMigori Governor OkothObado in graft allegationshas split MCAs.

Two camps are squabblingover what steps thecounty assembly shouldinitiate against the countyboss.One group wants Obadoto clear his name whilethe other is defending himagainst the claims.

The county chief is inthe list over improprietyconcerning Sh600 millionthrough an alleged flawedtender process.

On Friday, assemblymajority leader RichardSolo (North Kamagambo)and Jared Osawa (SouthSakwa) said Obado shouldclear his name and stoppointing fingers at imaginarypolitical rivals.The critics said the assemblywill study the reportcarefully and take appropriateaction.

They said Obado shouldprove his innocence sincemillions were lost on hiswatch.“Cord will not defendhim until he proves he isclean.

We are awaiting anofficial verdict from EACCbefore we act,” Solo said.Osawa said the countyassembly will not supportcorruption
